Talk to your AI tools the way you'd talk to a colleague.

You don't send a colleague a three-word brief. You explain the context, the constraints, what you've already tried. But typing all that into ChatGPT takes forever — so you don't.

Wispr Flow lets you speak your prompts instead. Talk through your thinking naturally and get clean, paste-ready text. No filler words. No cleanup. Just detailed prompts that actually get you useful answers on the first try.

❖   The Gripe   ❖
A Personal Affront, Reported Faithfully
A prediction market banned a disgraced former congressman for life after finding he bet on whether he himself would show up to the State of the Union, then made public statements about his own attendance specifically to move the odds in his favor. He walked away with nearly eighteen thousand dollars before anyone caught it, on top of a separate thirty five thousand dollar settlement two months earlier for the same trick. He responded online by threatening the platform's future instead of returning the money. Banned for life, first time the platform has ever done it, over a bet on his own body showing up somewhere. I have never once had inside information on my own plans, and I have still managed to be late.

Today's News, Ranked By How Much It Ruined My Mood
🔥 Most Enraging
Tim Cook's last day as Apple's CEO was today, handing the job to John Ternus, the engineer who has run hardware across every device Apple makes. Cook is staying on as executive chairman to handle the political relationships, while Ternus takes the actual product decisions. Cook's own words for the handoff were that few people understand what it takes to build products the way Ternus does. Fifteen years running the company, and the exit line is a compliment about somebody else. I have left jobs with considerably less grace and considerably more about myself.
😩 Most Exhausting
Scientists reviewing over a decade of data found 245 earthquakes near the ocean edge of Antarctica's Thwaites Glacier, the one that could raise sea levels by three meters if it goes. Most come from chunks of ice breaking off, flipping over in the water, and slamming back into the glacier hard enough to register as a quake. The surge lined up with a period when the glacier was already sliding toward the ocean faster than normal. Two hundred forty five impacts, and the glacier just kept moving. I have flinched at considerably smaller collisions and required a full minute to recover.
😤 Unreasonably Annoying
A pet macaw got stuck in a tree in California for several days before firefighters were called in, and the rescue plan turned out to be the owner calling to the bird while firefighters squirted it gently with water until it came down. The department's own writeup said the bird was reunited with his father. Not his owner. His father. I have owned houseplants I refer to with less warmth than that.
🤷 Somehow Also Happening
A tree covered island roughly the size of two football fields showed up in a Canadian reservoir, confirmed by satellite photos, then vanished from those same satellites two weeks later. A utility spokesman admitted he did not believe it at first, since photos can be faked with AI now, but the satellite data held up. Officials think it broke off the shore after years of driftwood and rooted trees built up, and probably drifted somewhere less visible instead of sinking. An entire floating landmass came and went, and the working theory is nobody noticed where. I have lost a single sock in my own house with the same total lack of explanation.
❖   And Some Other Stuff   ❖
Briefly, And With Limited Enthusiasm
Rocky planets may have formed just 100 million years after the Big Bang — Researchers modeled the universe's very first supernovae, giant early stars exploding with enough force to fling out more than a hundred times the sun's mass in heavy elements each, and found there was already enough raw material to build rocky planets and oceans of water only a hundred million years after the Big Bang. The universe had the ingredients for a planet almost immediately and waited billions of years to actually make one anybody lives on. I have owned ingredients for a specific meal for over a year and made a different, worse dinner every night instead.
VLC crosses 7 billion downloads — VLC just passed seven billion downloads, still free, still run by a nonprofit, gaining its most recent billion in about a year and a half while people kept paying for streaming services that make you watch things on their schedule. Nobody involved seems to be getting rich off it. Seven billion downloads and the whole operating philosophy is still just play the file. I have paid a monthly fee for less functionality than this app offers for nothing.
Three Patagonian maras escape from Netherlands zoo — Three large rodents called maras escaped a Netherlands zoo's holding pen while waiting to be transferred somewhere else, and it took a day and the police to find all three, one on the grounds, one in a nearby garden, and the last one back inside the zoo by the next morning. A staffer said the enclosure probably just was not latched properly. Three animals gone because somebody forgot to check a door. I have also lost track of something because I assumed a previous version of myself had handled it.
I'm closing my laptop now. You should too.
